Made to Order

Each Veblenist strap is crafted specifically for you in our Chicago workshop. Production begins only after your order is placed, so each strap is made to your chosen leather, dimensions, and specifications.

Made-to-order craftsmanship takes time and care. Please allow approximately 7–14 business days (about 2–3 weeks) for production before your order ships. More complex customizations may take additional time.

Shipping & Returns

We offer complimentary shipping on all U.S. orders, and complimentary DHL Express on international orders of $199 or more.

Standard (non-custom) straps can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery; a $20 restocking fee applies to returns, and cancellations are subject to a $20 cancellation fee.

Customized straps are crafted specifically for their future owner, and are therefore final sale.

FAQ

What's included?

  • The watch strap (both the buckle side and the adjustment-holes side)
  • A tang buckle (as shown in the product images), in a width matched to your strap. If a customization means the strap doesn't fit our standard buckle, a buckle isn't included.
  • Quick-release springbars, if you've added them to your customization

Note: standard (non-quick-release) springbars and a strap-change springbar tool are sold separately.

Where is this strap made?
This Veblenist strap is handcrafted to order in our Chicago workshop.

How long until my order ships?
This strap is made to order, with a production time of 7–14 business days (about 2–3 weeks); more complex customizations may take longer. Rush production is available for an additional fee, depending on your timeline and specs.

How do I know which strap width to order?
Choose the strap width that matches your watch's lug width — the gap between your watch's lugs where the strap attaches. For more details, see our strap width guide.

How do I change or install the strap?
Watch straps attach to your watch's lugs with springbars. To fit a new strap, use a spring bar tool to compress one end of the bar, slot the strap between the lugs, and let the bar spring back into the lug holes — then repeat on the other side. If you've added quick-release springbars, no tool is needed: just slide the small lever to retract the bar and swap the strap by hand in seconds.

Can I use my own buckle or a deployant clasp?
Yes — choose the "Custom Buckle" option in the customization menu, and we'll ask a few questions to ensure a proper fit.

Are quick-release springbars available?
Yes — you can add quick-release springbars when you customize your strap. They come in whole sizes from 16 mm to 24 mm (no half sizes). If your strap's width falls outside 16–24 mm, we'll make the cutouts but can't include the springbars.

How do I care for my strap?
Wipe your cordovan strap with a soft, dry cloth and let the natural patina develop. Avoid soaking; if caught in rain, dry it slowly away from heat. Condition sparingly with a cordovan-specific cream and buff to restore shine.

Amazing composition. Very well built. Looks amazing on Tudor black bay 58. Only downside is it scratches easily.

Just took delivery of the Horween single pass! Beautiful leather with superb durability - I particularly like how thin cut this one is compared to a majority of leather nato straps on the market. I chose to customize stitching, and waited about 2.5 weeks for production, and a couple of days to ship to Canada. Overall, I think you get what you pay for - construction, material and hardware is very solid if you are looking for a premium option shy of full custom. On my 6.25" wrist, I think I would opt for a shorter length as opposed to the standard option next time. I was hoping to dress up my Khaki Field, but I think that watch is still better suited to fabrics and rugged straps, though this leather drapes wonderfully on the Black Bay 54!

It’s a nice strap - but thinner than expected and with a few minor QC issues on the back of the strap. It wears a bit longer than similar pass through straps of the same nominal length. If I order a similar strap in the future I will get a custom length.

I have several older Corvus Shell Cordovan NATO straps in Black. All are somewhat thicker than this strap. In addition, I do not like the Black colored reverse. Your photo actually has the natural dark tan / brown color reverse of the Shell Cordovan but mine is solid Black. There are no markings on the reverse from Horween stating that the strap is made from Horween Shell Cordovan. thank you.

A new friend (w/ Chgo ties) Dr Michael Goode w/the department of History @Utah State University, Logan UT, suggested Veblenist web site to me. Per usual, he is correct in his assessment: hands down, beautiful cordovan leather nato strap. Cheers

This one piece leather strap is beautiful as it is practical. This hand made strap feels soft and subtle. Well made, I know it will last for years-I couldn't be happier.
