Strap Width: How to Measure Lug Width

Determining the Correct Strap Width

The correct strap width is determined by your watch’s lug width—the distance between the lugs (the two metal pieces on either side of the watch case that the strap attaches to).

How to Measure the Lug Width

Use a ruler or caliper with millimeter (mm) precision to measure your watch's lug width, as shown by the black line in the picture below. Measure from the inner edge of one lug to the inner edge of the other to ensure an accurate fit.

In the example below, the watch’s lug width measures 20mm. The left image shows a digital caliper measurement, while the right shows a measurement using a ruler.

Choosing the Strap Width

On each strap’s product page, width options are listed as two numbers (e.g., 20/16). The first number refers to the lug width, and the second to the buckle width.
For example, a 20/16 strap is 20 mm wide where it attaches to the watch and tapers down to 16 mm.

Choosing Strap Width
If your watch’s lug width is not 18, 19, 20, 21, or 22mm, select “Custom” and enter your specific lug width measurement.
