The watch strap is excellent. My only comment is that there was literally no communication for 12 business days after I submitted my order. I had to reach out to get a status update on the shipping. I think that could be a little better.
I have purchased several straps and always been pleased with them. This strap was custom made to my specifications for my Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Platinum Double Retrograde watch. Specifically, it was ordered with no keepers so that I could use the strap with my ML single fold deployant. As seen in photos, the stap is very high quality and matches the style of the watch perfectly. I will order from Veblenist in the future, highly recommend

This Strap has changed the entire look of my watch for the better. With the customization, I was able to get the perfect taper and length I needed. Works well with my deployant clasp. The Strap is very well made.
I originally chose the Battalion Grey Cordura for this watch, but its very short lugs simply couldn’t accommodate the thickness of the strap. I hadn’t really considered the relationship between lug length and strap thickness when I ordered it, and when it didn’t fit I honestly wasn’t sure what to do next. That turned out to be a very good thing, because it led me to contact Veblenist for advice. Howard suggested the Onyx Ridged Suede modified with curved ends and extra-thin construction around the spring bars, and guided me toward a solution I would not have arrived at on my own. The watch is designed by Drenttel Doyle Partners, created in New York in the 1990s. I have a particular affection for it because I was living and working there then. The dial turns the numbered IRT subway-route symbols into hour markers, and I’ve always loved the almost Bauhaus-adjacent clarity of the idea. The final strap suits it beautifully. The black suede merges with the black case, while the ridged surface adds subtle graphic texture without competing with the dial. The custom construction fits perfectly, and the whole watch now feels completely resolved. I couldn’t be happier with how this came together.
I originally ordered this Battalion Grey Cordura for another watch and got that decision completely wrong. It was too thick for that watch’s very short lugs, and in retrospect it wasn’t the right aesthetic choice either. Then I tried it on my vintage Raketa 24-hour world-cities watch—the first watch I ever bought for myself, when Soviet watches were first becoming available here during perestroika—and suddenly it looked like the strap had been made for it. The grey reads nearly black in person, the Cordura texture suits the Raketa’s utilitarian character beautifully, and even the slight taper I thought I didn’t want for this watch turns out to be exactly right: it continues the angle of the lugs away from the case and makes the whole watch feel more coherent on the wrist. This failed pairing became one I can’t imagine changing.
I bought this Alabaster Canvas for an unbranded Japanese commemorative watch with a white dial and kanji numerals that look almost hand-drawn. What drew me to the strap was its linen/parchment color—together with the woven texture, it makes the whole watch feel a little like ink on paper. The black keepers add just enough graphic structure without disturbing that softness. This was my first Veblenist strap, and the pairing felt magical from the start. It didn’t just improve the watch, it made the watch make sense.
My first go with VEBLENIST was a custom alligator for a P-P Pilot. We had a few discrepancies & the good folks at VEBLENIST made ALL the right adjustments. Here you can also see how terrific the exceptionally rugged Kobold SOARWAY SEAL looks on a marvelously mellow comfortable canvas. Both are unconditionally comfortable all day long. I’ve worked with watch & strap makers throughout Switzerland, Germany, France & the UK. I can say with assurance VEBLENIST is top flight & on the upper tier. Likewise, I look forward to my next. Super high quality, and exactly what I ordered! The wait time from order to delivery is the worst part, but it’s custom made to order so that’s understandable. To be fair, they are very upfront about it when ordering, so it was about what I expected.

The quality of this watch strap is outstanding. Shell Cordovan is absolutely worth the premium price. Details such as the stitching and buckle are excellent and I've found that these are areas that some brands neglect. Overall, I couldn't be happier and I plan to order straps from Veblenist again in the future.
