Made to Order

Each Veblenist strap is crafted specifically for you in our Chicago workshop. Production begins only after your order is placed, so each strap is made to your chosen leather, dimensions, and specifications.

Made-to-order craftsmanship takes time and care. Please allow approximately 7–14 business days (about 2–3 weeks) for production before your order ships. More complex customizations may take additional time.

Shipping & Returns

We offer complimentary shipping on all U.S. orders, and complimentary DHL Express on international orders of $199 or more.

Standard (non-custom) straps can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery; a $20 restocking fee applies to returns, and cancellations are subject to a $20 cancellation fee.

Customized straps are crafted specifically for their future owner, and are therefore final sale.

FAQ

What's included?

  • The watch strap (both the buckle side and the adjustment-holes side)
  • A tang buckle (as shown in the product images), in a width matched to your strap. If a customization means the strap doesn't fit our standard buckle, a buckle isn't included.
  • Quick-release springbars, if you've added them to your customization

Note: standard (non-quick-release) springbars and a strap-change springbar tool are sold separately.

Where is this strap made?
This Veblenist strap is handcrafted to order in our Chicago workshop.

How long until my order ships?
This strap is made to order, with a production time of 7–14 business days (about 2–3 weeks); more complex customizations may take longer. Rush production is available for an additional fee, depending on your timeline and specs.

How do I know which strap width to order?
Choose the strap width that matches your watch's lug width — the gap between your watch's lugs where the strap attaches. For more details, see our strap width guide.

How do I change or install the strap?
Watch straps attach to your watch's lugs with springbars. To fit a new strap, use a spring bar tool to compress one end of the bar, slot the strap between the lugs, and let the bar spring back into the lug holes — then repeat on the other side. If you've added quick-release springbars, no tool is needed: just slide the small lever to retract the bar and swap the strap by hand in seconds.

Can I use my own buckle or a deployant clasp?
Yes — choose the "Custom Buckle" option in the customization menu, and we'll ask a few questions to ensure a proper fit.

Are quick-release springbars available?
Yes — you can add quick-release springbars when you customize your strap. They come in whole sizes from 16 mm to 24 mm (no half sizes). If your strap's width falls outside 16–24 mm, we'll make the cutouts but can't include the springbars.

How do I care for my strap?
Wipe your leather strap with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from prolonged moisture and direct heat. Condition it occasionally with a quality leather balm, and store away from direct sunlight to preserve the color.

Customer photo review of Battalion Grey Cordura

I originally ordered this Battalion Grey Cordura for another watch and got that decision completely wrong. It was too thick for that watch’s very short lugs, and in retrospect it wasn’t the right aesthetic choice either. Then I tried it on my vintage Raketa 24-hour world-cities watch—the first watch I ever bought for myself, when Soviet watches were first becoming available here during perestroika—and suddenly it looked like the strap had been made for it. The grey reads nearly black in person, the Cordura texture suits the Raketa’s utilitarian character beautifully, and even the slight taper I thought I didn’t want for this watch turns out to be exactly right: it continues the angle of the lugs away from the case and makes the whole watch feel more coherent on the wrist. This failed pairing became one I can’t imagine changing.

Great strap, wears well, and seems very resilient so far. The cordura and pin buckle holes are holding up very nicely after several weeks of daily wear. I also got rubber lining as a customization option for a warm climate, and I highly recommend it.

Love that I can custom build my strap! It’s the perfect fit and so I’m confident each time I order that the next one will be also.

Battalion Grey Cordura

Love the appearance of this strap, as it matches my Tudor P39 rather well. Unfortunately, I am piss poor with my wrist measurements....as the size of the strap that I ordered doesn't work and thus cannot be used (far too tight). My mistake, of course. But it looks like I'll have to stick to using the metal bracelet with my watch. Oh well. Maybe I'll try hunting for a bracelet again next Summer =/.

Battalion Grey Cordura

The only strap I own that I requires me to cut off my blood circulation to wear. Im always between holes 3 and 4 on every other strap. I wore this strap for a few days with constant irritation hoping it would “break in” but it is unusable

One of several straps I’ve purchased in the last year. Very high quality. I will be buying more.
