The Expedition Blue Waxed Canvas is excellent. The construction feels very solid, the finishing is clean, and the canvas has a lot of texture and personality in person. Regular canvas straps are pretty common, but waxed canvas is a little more unusual, and I think Veblenist did a very good job with it. At first, I was expecting the strap to have a more obvious waxed feel. After wearing it for a while, though, I appreciate what they did here. I also don’t think the photos quite do it justice. The waxing can make the weave look a little blurred or flattened in pictures, but there is much more texture and character when you have it on the wrist. I bought it for my NOMOS Tangente, and the blue works especially well with the blued hands. It gives the watch a more casual look without feeling out of place. Veblenist also has a heritage feel that I really like. The strap feels like something that belongs with the watch and adds another layer to it, rather than just being an accessory I swapped on. I also want to give Michelle a shoutout. She was great to work with throughout the order and made the whole experience easy. One thing I would change is how Veblenist communicates the spring bar options. The straps do not come with quick-release spring bars by default, and I only realized that after placing my order. Granted, I was shopping and ordering pretty quickly, and Michelle was very helpful in getting mine updated. There is nothing wrong with standard spring bars, but quick-release spring bars are common enough now that some buyers may assume they are included. I think making that distinction more obvious on the product page would help avoid potential disappointment.
