Made to Order

Each Veblenist strap is crafted specifically for you in our Chicago workshop. Production begins only after your order is placed, so each strap is made to your chosen leather, dimensions, and specifications.

Made-to-order craftsmanship takes time and care. Please allow approximately 7–14 business days (about 2–3 weeks) for production before your order ships. More complex customizations may take additional time.

Shipping & Returns

We offer complimentary shipping on all U.S. orders, and complimentary DHL Express on international orders of $199 or more.

Standard (non-custom) straps can be returned or exchanged within 30 days of delivery; a $20 restocking fee applies to returns, and cancellations are subject to a $20 cancellation fee.

Customized straps are crafted specifically for their future owner, and are therefore final sale.

FAQ

What's included?

  • The watch strap (both the buckle side and the adjustment-holes side)
  • A tang buckle (as shown in the product images), in a width matched to your strap. If a customization means the strap doesn't fit our standard buckle, a buckle isn't included.
  • Quick-release springbars, if you've added them to your customization

Note: standard (non-quick-release) springbars and a strap-change springbar tool are sold separately.

Where is this strap made?
This Veblenist strap is handcrafted to order in our Chicago workshop.

How long until my order ships?
This strap is made to order, with a production time of 7–14 business days (about 2–3 weeks); more complex customizations may take longer. Rush production is available for an additional fee, depending on your timeline and specs.

How do I know which strap width to order?
Choose the strap width that matches your watch's lug width — the gap between your watch's lugs where the strap attaches. For more details, see our strap width guide.

How do I change or install the strap?
Watch straps attach to your watch's lugs with springbars. To fit a new strap, use a spring bar tool to compress one end of the bar, slot the strap between the lugs, and let the bar spring back into the lug holes — then repeat on the other side. If you've added quick-release springbars, no tool is needed: just slide the small lever to retract the bar and swap the strap by hand in seconds.

Can I use my own buckle or a deployant clasp?
Yes — choose the "Custom Buckle" option in the customization menu, and we'll ask a few questions to ensure a proper fit.

Are quick-release springbars available?
Yes — you can add quick-release springbars when you customize your strap. They come in whole sizes from 16 mm to 24 mm (no half sizes). If your strap's width falls outside 16–24 mm, we'll make the cutouts but can't include the springbars.

How do I care for my strap?
Wipe your leather strap with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from prolonged moisture and direct heat. Condition it occasionally with a quality leather balm, and store away from direct sunlight to preserve the color.

I love the colour of the matte leather, and the way it’s made; however I was a little disappointed that after barely 24 hours on my wrist, the leather seems to be cracking horizontally. I’ve tried to pick that up in the picture here. Is that normal?

Great strap. It fits well -- on my watch and my wrist. It looks terrific and, best of all, it's super comfortable. I like it so much I ordered a second strap from Veblenist!

Beautiful and unique , looks really good with the deep black colors of Zulu time , comfortable, durable, good quality. Took some time to stretch out had to go up a buckle hole after a few days. Worth the wait.

Customer photo review of Rover Grey RAF Single-Piece

Comfortable, durable, looks great, and develops character with every scuff and scratch. Took a while to ship given the custom length I ordered, but It was worth it to have a NATO style strap that doesn't look comically small. The gray-brown color of this strap works surprisingly well with the brighter Pelagos blue which I typically find difficult to match with. Has stayed on this watch since I got it so definitely a winner for me.

Finish is good however I feel the leather strap itself is thin which makes any the top heavy watches tricky to balance on wrist.

Rover Grey RAF Single-Piece

Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback. The single-piece strap thickness is made at the maximum allowable level, taking into account the clearance between the springbars and the watch case. This ensures it can be installed smoothly without scraping or damage. We hope this helps clarify.

I love the strap. It was a little longer than I wanted. I was able to cut it a little. For future reference - if this one was a 24, I should need a 22 in the future.

As usual, Veblenist has made a perfect strap. I ordered it a bit shorter in length so the tail did not extend up the side of my smaller wrist too much. Worked out just right. And the floating keeper is nice and tight so it does not slide around during wear. The leather quality is top-notch and I love the brownish-grey color. Looks good on my Hamilton KFM.

Exceptional texture with a creamy and soft feel. Thin profile means no added bulk around the spring bars. Remarkable quality all around. Highly recommend!

The keeper in the photos looks to be leather when, in fact, it is plastic. The 1.3mm thickness of the actual leather strap is thinner than I expected (although it may be necessary for some watches). Combined, I am not sure this strap is worth $120+.

Rover Grey RAF Single-Piece

Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback! The keeper is made from veg-tanned leather—not plastic. It's designed to be firm to hold its shape; a softer keeper would make sliding and adjusting more difficult. Thank you and hope this clarifies!

Good quality leather with nice look and feel. For a large watch like my Tudor Palagos FXD the leather could be a bit „stiffer“ for a better hold. Otherwise, great product.
